Started out the day early and ran into an interesting issue almost right away. A herd of bison wanted to share the road with us. Actually, they didn't want to share. They wanted the whole road. Craig skillfully tried to maneuver around them. They weren't impressed and it took a while to convince them to let us through.

This one guy that is just above the windshield wiper was messing with Craig!

Males, females and young ones. |

Eventually they moved to the side and let us slowly go through. I think that there were about 40 of them although I didn't get a chance to count them.

Some things I just can't explain. This is a "Sign Forest" in Watson Lake BC. People from all over the world have put up signs in this sign forest. It's amazing and just plain weird! According to the visitor center, there are 82,000 signs in the Sign Forest. Some are handwritten but a lot are either license plates or road signs - how do people get them and how do they know to bring them on their trip? I don't know! |

Lots of beautiful scenery everywhere we went today. We just ooh and aah all day long! |
Interesting weather here. It has rained almost every day, sometimes just for a few minutes and sometimes a torrential downpour that lasts for an hour with lots of lightening and thunder. But then it clears up and it's a beautiful day. We have had great weather actually - no complaints. We prefer to be in camp at night when it rains but sometimes, when it rains earlier in the day, we get a few minutes of unsettling road conditions.
We stopped tonight just short of Whitehorse because it's been a long day and rather than pull in late at night and look for a camping spot, we decided to pull up about 50 miles short where it was less crowded and go into Whitehorse first thing in the morning. Johnson Crossing is nothing special but we were comfortable and safe and that's worth a lot to us!
Looks like your adventure is going beautifully and you are enjoying the journey!
