This is what home looks like for the next few months. This is our 33 ft rv - nothing new or fancy but it works just fine for us! We will be towing the Subaru behind us for extra flexibility while traveling.
After two warm up trips (first to Flathead Lake, MT, the to Ocean Shores, WA) we are getting ready to hit the road for the big trip to Alaska. AAA says this trip will be approximately 5500 miles and will require 106 hrs. of driving with an average speed of 55 mph (not likely we can achieve that pace but it's a starting point for calculating). We have 57 total days available to complete the trip so at 250 miles per day, that leaves us 35 days to take side trips and do some hiking and biking along the way.
We plan to leave early Saturday morning to beat the traffic out of town. We had planned to leave on Friday but we acquired a rock ding in the window somehow in our recent travels and we are trying to get it fixed before we leave so it doesn't become a bigger problem on the road.
So here we go!
PS - for those who followed our Montana trip, you know that we had a mishap with our awning. Since then with a lot of help from our friends, we have new motorized arms on our awning. Pretty nifty!
Have a wonderful time! Looking forward to your blog!
